| The long-anticipated PL 8 battle contest has finally arrived. We'll be running it Thursday, July 7, at 7:00 p.m.
This will either be a one-on-one battle OR a team battle (depending on whether we have an odd or even amount of players.) As always, the winning player (or player team) will earn 1 Power Point for their character(s).
I look forward to seeing everyone there!

| In part 1 of our PL 8 Battle Contest, Steel Savior and Cover Shot faced off against Mindstorm and the mystically empowered Tattoo inside their new headquarters; the Wayne Foundation Batcave.
After tapping into the bunker’s environmental control system and dimming the lights, the power-armored hero, Steel Savior found his first target hiding in the workshop. Mindstorm crouched in shadows as she engaged in telepathic rapport with Tattoo, but that did nothing to conceal her from Steel Savior’s radar sense!
It was time for Steel Savior to test his new weapons upgrades! His mechanical blade slid into place as his 7’ form rushed forward to charge. The 5’2 psionic heroine was barely able to evade his attack. She ducked back at the last possible moment, and Steel Savior slammed into a shelf full of tools. Then, with the speed of thought, Mindstorm suddenly disappeared, leaving her baffled opponent behind.
Meanwhile Cover Shot and Tattoo confronted each other from opposite ends of the dark corridor. The mysterious glowing symbol on Tattoo’s forehead provided the perfect target for the archer Crossbow, but Tattoo, who could see in complete darkness, could see the attack coming. He quickly erected a shiny blue energy bubble to deflect his opponent's arrows. Cover Shot retreated to plan a new attack, before Tattoo could strike back.
As Mindstorm reappeared in the garage, teleporting next to Tattoo, Steel Savior flew into the hallway, powered by his jet boots. This time Tattoo was first to act, with a dazzling display of blinding mystical energy. But, his blinded opponent quickly reoriented. Relying on radar to guide him, Steel Savior landed his first strike against Tattoo, who managed to evade the full force of his blade by leaping backward!
Mindstorm and the injured Tattoo, attacked Steel Savior in tandem, while Cover Shot raced through the corridor, into the garage. Tattoo surrounded Steel Savior with a glistening blue sphere, while Mindstorm commanded him to sleep.
But their joint attack backfired. While invading Steel Savior’s mind, Mindstorm tapped into his guilty memories of the bus accident that paralyzed his friend! Unable to rescue him, Steel Savior had been haunted by the incident ever since. Now, distracted and overwhelmed by those same memories, Mindstorm’s resolve was weakened enough for Steel Savior to fight off her influence!
Enraged by the invasion into his private memories, Steel Savior also broke free of Tattoo’s capture bubble. He aimed his force blast at a nearby tank of jet fuel, and the garage exploded with a huge burst of orange-yellow flame….
Thursday at 7:00 P.M. the action continues on Open RPG, Blackstarr. I look forward to seeing everyone there.
((P.S. Since our last session ended rather abruptly, please be prepared to describe how your hero reacts in the wake of the explosion. I will review your damage conditions at the beginning of the game, and you can respond accordingly.)

| Congratulations to Steel Savior (played by Warsor) and to Cover Shot (Ted F.) for their victory over Tattoo (Ted W.) and Mindstorm (Stef). Both of the winners have earned a power point toward their characters.
Sorry it's been a month since I've last updated, but now I'm back on track. We will be resuming the campaign shortly.
